From catalogue entry: This copy has many notes in the hand of Dr. Thomas Gascoigne, especially on 173-6 and 191-217: e.g. on 2 he identifies the writer as *Petrus Olavi prior monasterii sancte Marie semper virginis in Alvastro*, he corrects *Brigida* more than once to *Birgitta*, on 173-6 he four times names the solitary *dominus Alfonsus quondam episcopus Giennensis in Hispania*, and on 175v he comments on a reference to the support given to St. Bridget by successive popes *scilicet Clementi sexto, Urbano quinto, Gregorio undecimo, quo vivente papa sancta Birgitta Rome obiit in domo sua posita iuxta campum florum, ut patet in libro attestacionum qui est in Anglia in monasterio Syon, quod vulgus vocat Scheen, eo quod monasterium Syon prius edificatum fuit iuxta villam vocatam Scheen* (the volume to which he refers is now London BL MS Harley 612)" (p. 225)
